MONTREAL, March 28, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ – The Quebec Chapter of FEI Canada, a cross-industry professional association of senior finance executives, is pleased to announce the finalists of its annual competition The aces of finance. Created in 2011, the competition aims to recognize the professional achievements and community involvement of distinguished chief financial officers in Quebec. An independent judging panel will oversee the judging process to select the 2022 winners from the finalists who qualified in one of the three categories. The gala honoring the finalists and winners will take place on May 4.

A face-to-face gala to celebrate our financial leaders
After two years of virtual gala, the Quebec Section of FEI Canada is pleased to be able to hold its face-to-face gala this spring, under the honorary presidency of Mr. Guy Cormier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group. It is on this occasion that the presentation of the finalists will take place and the unveiling of the three winners. The atmosphere will be festive! The gala will be held on May 4, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal. It will be possible to reserve a ticket or a table of ten guests on the FEI Canada website, Quebec Chapter from April.
Presentation of the 2022 Tribute Prize
During each gala, a person in charge of the financial department who has distinguished himself for his entire career is awarded the Tribute Prize The aces of finance. This year, the winner of this award is Mr. Laurence Sellyn. He served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Gildan Activewear Inc. for 16 years before retiring in 2015. He has since advised business leaders and served as a director at Loop Industries. Mr. Sellyn previously worked for Domtar Inc. and Wajax Inc. in addition to sitting on the boards of Cascades Inc. and Héritage Montréal and on several committees of charitable organizations. He holds an MA in Modern Languages and Literature from Oxford University. Moreover, the Canadian business magazine awarded him the CFO of the Year award in 2005.
