Carcassonne: from April 5 to 16, the “your purchases reimbursed” operation returns to the city center

From Tuesday April 5 to Saturday April 16 inclusive, the City of Carcassonne and the Trade and Crafts Office are organizing the eighth edition of the “Your purchases reimbursed in the city center” operation.

An event now well known to Carcassonne customers and merchants, “Your purchases reimbursed”, returns from Tuesday April 5 to Saturday April 16 inclusive for an eighth edition. An objective ? “Encourage the frequentation of shops in the city center and highlight the essential role of small local shops”explain David Bustos, municipal councilor in charge of economic attractiveness and Pascal Fouich, president of the Office of Commerce.

Thus, for 11 days, the operation makes it possible to be reimbursed for purchases made in the approximately 150 participating stores. The amount of the purchases will then be returned in the form of Saint-Louis gift vouchers accepted by all merchants in the city centre. These will be usable until June 30th.

A kit, consisting of a welcome mat in front of the store entrance, a poster and “Your purchases refunded” passports, will be distributed to participating traders. To play, nothing’s easier ! All you have to do is pick up a passport from one of these merchants. These will include customer and location details that will need to be stamped with each purchase. They will be completed with the duplicate of the corresponding receipt which must be stapled to the back of each passport. Each customer will be offered a passport which they can then use at all the merchants participating in the “Your purchases reimbursed in the city center” operation.

These famous passports must be deposited by participating customers in the ballot boxes installed in the chalet located on Place Carnot before Saturday April 16 at 6 p.m.: they will then be submitted, between April 19 and 22, to a draw carried out by a bailiff. A maximum reimbursement of 500 euros will be allocated per family. The winners will be contacted by telephone.

For David Bustos, “Your purchases reimbursed” is an operation “important and now lasting”. The numbers speak for themselves: “In 2021, this operation brought together nearly 150 merchants, 1,487 passports were deposited, it is also more than 285,000 euros in purchases, an increase compared to 2020 of more than 8%. It is approximately 130 euros spent on average per passport, 42 winners drawn and 10,000 euros in Saint-Louis gift vouchers offered to winners and collected by all participating merchants!”, congratulates the chosen one. And to insist: “The city center is both a place to live and a commercial, cultural area. There is a soul. And look at the city center: 76 shops have opened over the past three years. Currently, as part of the economic revitalization, we are focusing on rue George Clemenceau. Muy Mucho and Jott have settled in, and we still have dozens of project leaders. The year 2022 will undoubtedly be marked by new openings!”

1h45 of free parking

At the same time, the trade office, for about ten years now, has been carrying out a parking voucher operation. “That is to say that when you go to a trader at the trade office, you have to ask and the latter can offer you 1h15 of parking in the city’s underground car parks!”announces Pascal Fouich. Participating merchants are branded and have a small sticker representing a car on their window. “With the 30 minutes offered by the city, you therefore have 1h45 of free parking. So take advantage of it!”.
