Passionate about enduro competitions, he took over the reins of this motorcycle shop, at the Chapter in Mende, created by the famous Lozère pilot, who taught him everything.
“ Back from the Husqvarna convention, thank you to our customers who allow us to be the best market share performer in France in 2021. Thank you also to the Husqvarna France staff for this good moment of sharing ” :vsis what Gregorian Richer announced on his Facebook account on Monday, March 28. This motorcycle enthusiast has fully deserved this title because he achieved 10% market share for the brand in 2021, while the French average is 1.70%. “There is nothing extraordinary, because Lozère is a department oriented towards enduro, even if the road ones are developing”he says humbly. Originally from Chartres, he arrived in Lozère by chance. “During my studies, I had to do an internship in a company. I consulted a motorcycle magazine and I looked for a dealer. I had the choice between Nice, Bordeaux or Mende. My choice fell on Mende, in relation to its enduristic history, and in 1999, I came to Laurent Charbonnel. Then, I obtained a master’s degree in management sciences. In 2000, I returned as an employee of the company Charbonnel motos. In 2005, I took on the management and, in 2010, I bought the business from Laurent Charbonnel who had opened it in 1997”summarizes Gregorian. Since then, he has continued to develop his business. In 2017, he bought the neighboring bike shop, to expand its showroom for road bikes, quads and SSVs (Side by side vehicles), which are four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles.
“When I arrived in Mende, it was out of passion, to be able to practice enduro. Since then, I have damaged my knees, I ride less on an all-terrain motorcycle, but rather in SSV, where I found the sensations close to the pleasure of enduro. It’s more secure with a roll cage.”
This enthusiast continues competitions, especially ice races. Since last fall, he has discovered new sensations. With his friend, Rudy Meynadier, they went to Morocco, to do a rally in an SSV. “We discovered a very beautiful country, great landscapes, with large dunes or dry wadis, and a new pleasure to ride. One day, I broke down. The assistance could not come to recover me everything. immediately, and I spent the night alone, on a dune. These are sensations and an extraordinary pleasure that I felt.” Alain Chiesi is the dealership mechanic and a young apprentice, Audrey, comes regularly for training. Charbonnel Motos is a partner of the Lozérien Moto Club and Team MCL and helps pilots in competition, such as Martin Bonnet, Romain Boucardey or Loïc Minaudier. Married to Aurélie since 2012, they spend their free time accompanying their daughters who are very athletic. Lola, 15, excels in swimming and Margot, 12, in mountain biking. “Training is essential for competition and for results”teach this dad to his daughters.
